Anil Sharma’s Genius is a 2018 Hindi-language romantic psychological action thriller movie. Utkarsh Sharma, who also appeared as a child actor in Sharma’s 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, makes his acting debut here as the male lead. In addition to Mithun Chakraborty and Ishita Chauhan, the movie also stars Ayesha Jhulka, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Malti Chahar in supporting parts.
Genius Movie Story
Vasudev Shastri, a brilliant RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent, is branded as inept at the beginning of the movie since he failed an important mission and became too hurt to work again. Later, when he is depressed and is sitting beside a park, Nandini, his life’s love, comforts him. The movie then cuts to a flashback where Vasudev Shastri, a brilliant but charming man, enrols at IIT Roorkee. Envious of him, Nandini Chauhan decides to make his life miserable. Vasu consistently outsmarts her despite her persistent hatred for him. Along with being the popular “genius” on university, he secretly works part-time for RAW using his hacking skills.
Nandini reluctantly visits Vasu the day before the IIT final test to ask for assistance with a theorem. Vasu tells Nandini there that he has loved her for a very long time. When Nandini learns of this, she quickly devises a devious plot to prevent Vasu from appearing in the exam the next day by giving him sleeping pills. Vasu, on the other hand, outsmarts her once more and enters the exam room first. Vasu completes his work without showing any signs of being upset with her and instead assists her with a last-minute problem before leaving. Nandini discovers that Vasu purposefully filed a blank paper on the day of the results in order to give her the victory.
Nandini falls head over heels in love with him after witnessing his devotion to love, but she keeps it a secret and leaves for the US to pursue her dream profession. On the other hand, Vasu is approached to join RAW by senior RAW personnel who are impressed by his intelligence. Vasu ultimately decides to join RAW in order to exact revenge on ISI after learning that his parents were slain in communal riots orchestrated by Pakistan’s ISI. The movie then cuts back to the present, when Vasu, who has been declared incompetent by RAW, is using a walking stick, has acute tinnitus, and has sustained a number of wounds as a result of his failed mission.
In order to care for Vasu, Nandini had taken time off from her job and travelled back to India. She brings Vasu to her home in Puducherry, where her mother is happy to see Nandini making significant sacrifices for Vasu’s welfare. Nandini had never prioritised interpersonal ties before her job. Vasu and Nandini share some tender moments, but their joy is fleeting since Vasu begins to dream about his failed mission.
Uncertain Nandini tries to transport Vasu to the US for medical care. Vasu declines and tells Nandini the sorrowful tale of his failed mission before leaving to find MRS, the head of ISI in India and the intended victim of his botched mission. A short while later, it becomes clear that Vasu staged the entire hallucination ordeal in order to find his adversaries. He murders each person who had aided MRS one at a time. MRS, on the other hand, is planning to assassinate Vasudev at a masquerade party after sensing his reappearance. Vasu manages to save himself during the masquerade party but sustains further damage. When Nandini notices Vasu’s sad state, she sobs.
This is a chance for MRS, who was covertly watching them, to abduct Nandini. The senior RAW members quickly recognise his proficiency. Vasu locates Nandini with the aid of RAW, protects Mathura from a powerful explosion, and eventually disposes of MRS by drowning him in the river. Everyone in RAW commends him. He gives Nandini a strong hug as the movie comes to a close.
