Sathya and other slum dwellers are compelled to move into a multi-story flat as part of the government plan. Everything within the flat starts to fall apart, which only makes matters worse given that the complex was constructed on loose soil. The flat’s shoddy construction makes it uninhabitable, but the residents have little alternative.

Despite Sathya’s persistent pleas for his mother Eshwari to “adjust,” she continues to use his troubles as fodder for his superhero comic book, Maaveeran. Eshwari never stops defying the contractor.

After finding that his mother thinks he is unfit to live a decent life, Sathya unsuccessfully attempts suicide but instead suffers a brain injury and subsequently starts hearing voices. Sathya gives the new voice precedence over himself and makes decisions in his life—both little and major—based on the voice’s counsel. Due to the voice’s counsel, Sathya gets into a brawl with politician Jeyakodi.

It is now evident that Jeyakodi planned the eviction of the slum people in order to further his political career and reputation. Sathya and the other tenants of the new house suffer with construction-related issues on a regular basis, like walls crumbling, leaky ceilings, and huge fractures that cannot be patched. Sathya becomes well-known as a result of acting on the voice’s recommendation and opposing Jeyakodi.

Similar to his debut film, Mandela, which also successfully combines humor and social satire, Madonne Ashwin’s second film, Maaveeran, has a fairly normal plot that is made more intriguing by the fantasy element.

Gentrification is started by the government, which forces the residents of the slum, including Sathya (Sivakarthikeyan), the main character, to move into an apartment. They notice the apartment’s shoddy construction right away. Walls begin to break under light pressure, door handles begin to come off, and paint begins to peel off the doors.

But Sathya, a cartoonist, is the kind of person who would tell Saritha, who raised an objection right away, to “adjust panni vaazha kathukanum.”

Unexpectedly, Sathya begins to hear the voice of the valiant warrior who serves as the central figure in his comic strip urging him to act on his instincts and stand up for the populace.
