Mumbai Gullies, an open world action adventure game, is currently in development at GameEon Studios in India. The game was revealed at the India Game Developers Conference in 2020. (IGDC). It will be available for Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Gameplay
In terms of open world concept and gameplay features, the game, which is played from a third-person perspective, is similar to the Grand Theft Auto series. The user can use a variety of vehicles, such as trains, cars, and auto-rickshaws, to explore the game world at their own pace.
While the game takes place in the Indian state of Maharashtra and the city of Mumbai, it is expected that popular tourist destinations including the Bombay Stock Exchange, Gateway of India, and the Dharavi slums would make an appearance.
The single-player story follows Vangya, an Indian pickpocket who, with his companion Johnny, has joined the ranks of local criminal Potya bhai in order to “make a reputation for ourselves” in the city. The player can choose from a wide range of objectives and side quests, some of which are integral to the plot while others can be completed at their own pace.
Development
The earliest concept art for the game was made in 2015, the majority of it was made after the game was announced at IGDC in 2020, and the first gameplay trailer was made available in June of 2021, according to the developer. In September of 2021, a group of Angel Investors in Mumbai contributed financing to the game’s developers so that they could keep making progress on the project. The 2021 IGDC Presentation featured character models and early gameplay video. There have been a number of unproven assertions made about the Android port of Mumbai Gullies. But as Thetechbook makes clear, only Computers and consoles will be used for development. Producer and GameEon Studios CEO Nikhil Malankar said in the same event that the game would be released in two parts, with the first portion, Mumbai Gullies: Prologue, coming out in 2023 and the second part, Mumbai Gullies: Final Chapter, coming out in 2025.
