Pushpa Story

The action drama film Pushpa: The Rise, which will be released in 2021, was written and directed by Sukumar. Allu Arjun plays Pushpa Raj, a coolie who becomes a red sandalwood smuggler in the film, which was produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Muttamsetty Media.

Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Sunil, Raj Tirandasu, Rao Ramesh, Dhananjaya, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Ajay, and Ajay Ghosh also appear in supporting roles.

This film from the 1990s tells the tale of Pushpa Raj, an Andhra Pradesh coolie who works in the Seshachalam Hills. Pushpa puts in a lot of effort and is always looking for new ways to boost his income.

One day, Konda Reddy, a smuggler, comes up to him and offers him a job smuggling red sandalwood. Pushpa initially declines, but after Konda Reddy assures him that he will receive a significant sum of money, he ultimately consents.

Pushpa quickly proves to be a valuable resource for Konda Reddy and rises to become one of his top smugglers. He has big ambitions and quickly starts to daydream about controlling the neighborhood red sandalwood trade.

However, he faced challenges on the way to success. He has to contend with the Reddy brothers, who are also involved in the red sandalwood trade, in addition to the police, who are out to get him.

The dark and action-packed film Pushpa: The Rise is about a man who would stop at nothing to achieve his goals. In this film, people’s ambition for power and their readiness to do anything to get it are explored. The film achieved financial success, earning over 300 crores in total. The soundtrack, action sequences, and Allu Arjun’s acting all got praise.

In the movie’s conclusion, Pushpa murders Konda Reddy and seizes control of his red sandalwood trafficking operation. Although he is currently the area’s most effective smuggler, the authorities are also looking for him. At the end of the film, Pushpa vows to continue his smuggling business as usual and avoid getting caught by the police.

In December 2023, Pushpa: The Rule, the second part of the film, is expected to be released. We’ll keep telling the story of Pushpa Raj’s rise to power in the red sandalwood market.

Pushpa Review

Sukumar breaks new ground in Pushpa: The Rise by making a rustic masala film with jokes, characters that speak in the Chittoor dialect, and a plot that is firmly rooted in the locale. And even though there were high hopes after Rangasthalam, what he offers is a mixed bag that is unduly drawn out, occasionally stumbles, and occasionally delivers on its promises.

Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) is one of the numerous coolies in Seshachalam who illegally cut down red sandalwood and sell it to the wealthy by the kilogram.

Pushpa gradually learns to make himself known within a sizable gaming syndicate, rising through the ranks until the person who used to be in charge of cutting down these trees is now the one giving orders. His Achilles heel is not, however, the strong men Konda Reddy (Ajay Ghosh), Jolly Reddy (Dhananjay), Mangalam Srinu (Sunil), and his wife Dakshayani (Anasuya Baradwaj).

The fact that his brother (Ajay) won’t let him claim his ancestry is what swiftly raises Pushpa’s temper and is typically the reason for this easygoing, cynical, conceited, and occasionally hilarious man losing his cool. And just as he accomplishes his life’s objectives, IPS Bhanwar Singh Shekawat (Fahadh Faasil) appears and challenges the order Pushpa has carefully constructed.

The rising of the underdog is a theme that is frequently covered in film, and this is the story of Pushpa: The rising. Therefore, Sukumar has nothing particularly novel to look into.

It’s novel how he chooses to plot out the action and spend his time crafting Pushpa’s persona before launching into the action. The movie runs for three hours. Despite all the hype, that is essentially what this film is, thus this choice may not be favored by many. Even though he may have made a lot of enemies, Pushpa’s foes suddenly seem insignificant in compared to his indomitable attitude when Shekawat comes to town.

Sukumar’s film succeeds when it sticks to the main plot and focuses on the details of red sanders smuggling, Pushpa’s part in settling things down, etc.

When the film tries to pull off a bizarre (and problematic) romance between him and Srivalli, it falls flat since it rarely works or even advances the primary plot. Although Pushpa has the chance to become her shining knight, the plot yet appears to be heading in the same direction. The climatic clash between the two characters doesn’t have the intended effect, and Shekawat’s character comes out as lackluster.
