Time Please Marathi Movie Story
After writing about the play on which this movie is based, Nava Gadi Nava Rajya, we assumed the film version would be a simple duplication on a larger scale. Boy, were we mistaken. The movie is significantly superior to the play, or perhaps we might say “different.” Additionally, we believe that first-time filmmaker Sameer Vidwans did a good job given the unfortunate truth that there is a larger audience for movies than plays. The newlyweds Rushikesh (Umesh Kamat) and Amruta (Priya Bapat) and how they share the sweet and bad times of their early married life are the subject of the film.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Kshitij Patwardhan, the writer of the film, for providing us with a story that, despite being routine in nature for some, never becomes dull. Thanks to characters that were painstakingly created and cast. Each and every one of them is ideal for the position.
Priya Bapat is charming to watch on television as the effervescent, carefree Amruta who doesn’t want to take life seriously. She might make you think of Jab We Met’s Geet, but with a Maharashtrian setting, she is guaranteed to capture the hearts of countless young people. Together, they make every scene of the movie feel like something that will happen in real life. Umesh Kamat, who is the ideal choice for the role of the responsible, caring, and concerned spouse, completes the picture.
Himmatrao Dhondepatil (Siddharth Jadhav), who bears the entire movie on his shoulders and accounts for the majority of our happy moments, is presented to us as the plot develops. It was obvious to us that he was performing alone. He portrays a friend of Amruta’s from childhood who has achieved success without losing touch with his roots. He is an Oxford-return scientist in his adulthood and doesn’t want to make a big deal out of things. Rushi and Amruta’s cold war was started by their close friendship and the crazy things they would do when they were together.
As we watch their unrefined friendship fall away, Rushikesh’s coworker Radhika (Sai Tamhankar) enters the scene and only serves to exacerbate the situation by being there when Rushi most needs a friend who can relate. She will gain a lot of admiration for her portrayal of the disturbed adult who is unable to control herself as things become tense. But we’ll say it again: the character of Himmatrao, who never stops making us laugh and is quickly gaining notoriety as “The Butterfly Man,” is the one who will stay in our hearts for a very long time.
Today, most of us have both male and female pals. Every newlywed couple wonders whether they will continue to be friends with their friends from college after they get married or whether they will drift apart. And for precisely this reason, today’s youngsters will connect with this straightforward plot. Impressive and appropriate in certain scenes, Hrishikesh Kamerkar provided the music for the film. The sooting qualities of the songs “Nava Gadi An Nava Rajya,” “Aas Tu,” and “Kadhi Na Kadhi” would get a lot of attention after Butterfly Man.
Last but not least, Seema Deshpande, who portrays Amruta’s adoring mother and is wonderful in her small screen presence, and Madhav Abhyankar, who plays her father, both do terrific supporting roles. Mandodari Mavshi is played by the enduring Vandana Gupte, who is also known as Rushikesh’s aunt. Her performances are invariably observed.
This film is a must-watch and a complete entertainment for anyone who says and believes that “opposites attract” and has seen confrontations between the mature and the juvenile. The nuanced blend of sensibility and humor in the right amounts has brought in a packed house to the theaters for the film. Watch it with friends or family if you can.
